  • Queries over VISITOR VISA

    Hi,

I have two questions, Will appreciate if some one can respond:
    1. My brother has studied but never passed 10th grade so we showed him uneducated as he didn't have any passing certificates and later we prepared his passport showing him uneducated. Now he is applying for visitor visa alongwith my mom. I know its difficult to get the visa for him, Can some tell me how should i present his case and show close ties with the country. I am sure, he will go back to India after 3 months as staying him here was never our intent. Also, want to know what value(unemployed/ other) i should select for my brother on DS-160 form because i also have to provide the clarification.
    2. Second question, My mom is a housewife but well educated, how should i present her case and what should i metion in DS-160 form after i select unemployed. Can i mention that she is housewife, will that be sufficient.

    Thanks.

I can't answer about your brother but I am sure someone else will but for you mother yes , for her employment write Home Duties, as long as she has the finances to fund the trip Home duties is ok as i have done that in the past and was ok.

      help regarding visa

      hi,
      * You are engaging only in visit/tourist-related or medical treatment activities.
      * You are planning to stay for a limited period of time in the United States.
      * You have sufficient financial resources to support your stay.
      * You have a residence outside the United States and will return to your home country after your stay in the United States.
      * You may stay up to six months. After six months, you may apply for an extension of stay, generally for another six months.
      * Note: If you are exempt as a citizen of a country under the Visa Waiver program, you may stay for up to 90 days without a visa.

        Hi
About your brother, it never mentioned anywhere that only the educated people can get the visa.
You brother need to show that he has stronger ties back here, by showing his employment, family and financial position.

And what do you mean by selecting value for your brother???

If brother is unemployed it is not a good idea to send him with your mother, for visa interview.
It may hamper you mother's visa also.

Thanks for replying. He is not employed and not even studying but we do have good financial backgroud and has no intent to stay in US for long time and I am on L-1 VISA. Do you think, its good to apply only for mother or should i send my brother alongwith my mother?

Do you think, if i show his return ticket. will that help?

I have been reading the statements here and is your mother just applying for a visitors visa B2 or something else? Your brother has to have a return ticket anyways and your mother so I can't see that this is a problem as long as they can financially fund this trip and their stay in the US.
I do not know your laws in India but I am sure they will be ok to go together.
And education I have no idea why you bring this up, I have never seen anything written about this in visa application, as long as you mother and brother can afford this trip financially I can't see a problem, and that they have their return air fares.

              Hi,

Both are applying for Visitor VISA B-2 but problem, i am seeing is, my brother doesn't have any education and neither he has any employment. Only thing, he can show is, my dad is still back home and financilly good so he will go back because my brother is dependent on him but main problem is his age, He is 20 now and unemployed thats my big worry. And, I am sponsoring both of them so they don't need to show much property or money.

              Any help here?
