Document to show for a dependent daughter

My Parents are going to attend the interview in Chennai Consulate for visitor visa. They have a dependent daughter there. What proof they can show to tell that they have a dependent daughter.

1) If she is studying, get a letter from her school/college.
2) Take her passport or birth certificate to prove that she is their daughter.

I know somebody who took a letter from their unmarried son's college principal.

She is working. She is not studying. Suggest a way to provide a proof.

Take a letter from her employer stating that she has a permanent job with so and so salary or something in those lines.
If she is working, I am not sure if she is categorized as "dependent child".
