Requesting Visa for Mom

Hello Everybody,
I am currently on H1B visa, which will expire Sept 12th 2010 and I would like to invite my mom to vist, How do I do this giving that my visa will expire soon? Can my boyfriend invite my mom? We are expecting our first child In Dec and we need help from my mom. Can any of my female friends do it?
PS, my boyfriend is an American, so is my female friend.

Thanks Immihelp. My mom is currently in the UK, and is will depart ending of Sept. I am told she has to attend the interview in her home country..anythoughts on how to proceed?
