I am currently on STEM OPT (valid till May 2022). I am engaged, and planning to get married in Nov/Dec of 2021. My fiance is currently in India, and I am planning to bring her back to the US with me after marriage.
What are the changes of getting F-2 visa approved for her, considering I will have only ~6 months of STEM OPT remaining during that time? Will there be any issues due to that? Does it make sense to instead apply for a B-2 visa for her instead, maybe even beforehand, saying she is planning to visit her fiance?
One thing we are concerned about is that she has prior B-2 rejection history (in 2018), when she tried to apply to visit me prior to engagement. Will that influence her application after around 3 years later, irrespective of whether we are applying for F-2 or B-2?
Would be great to get some inputs/suggestions. Thank you so much in advance!
