How many times can you apply for a visiting visa extension?

I can't find a solution because IRCC is preventing people from contacting agents at their call centre; I'm hoping someone in the group has had a similar experience and knows the answer.

Basically, I'm attempting to assist my inlaw in staying in Canada for a little longer. She came over for the birth of our first child, and we extended her stay once, but it's about to expire. As things stand, it's far better and safer for her to stay with us for a little longer, therefore I'm preparing to reapply for the extension; however, I'm not sure if this is permissible under IRCC rules.
