Please help! Urgent question regarding B2-F1 Transfer

I need to tranfer from B2 visitor status to F-1. Due to burden of proof in this type of transfer, is it advisable to do a 2-day Canada trip and during reentry tell the officer that I might consider studying and get a Prospective student endorsement at my b2 I-94?

Background: I applied the transfer from H1b to B2 2.5 months ago and it was recently approved.
