Us b2 visa application

I am planning to apply for US B2 VISA for travel in Oct 2010. I am an Engineer Presently working with a Fortune 500 Oil company in India for the last 11 years drawing an annual salary of approx 11 lakhs with various other perks. I am applying for US B2 Vistors visa with my spouse only. I am Not taking my kids for this 2 week vaccation in US this time as they are of small age 6 and 4. My parents ( In-laws) would be taking care of them as of now.

Now both my parents ( father just retired from service) have got 10 years US b2 visa are presenlty staying with my sister and brother in law in US now for a 3 month vaccation.

I am showing in my application that my sister is a green card holder. However to the question in the DS-160 whether my father is in the US?

What is to be answered.. Does it ask whether my father is in US on a permanent basis or should i answer yes even if he has come to US on a 3 month B2 visitors visa ..


Please Guide . Also what do you feel are my chances of getting a 10 year visa for me and spouse in our first attempt for B2 US VISA.

Maria I would be honest and say yes he is in US but you could write in separate piece of paper and note the question on form and explain he is there just on tourist B2 visa visiting for 3 months but his residence is in India.
I know it does not state in the question if it is permanent or visiting but the actual answer to that question is yes really speaking. They will ask at interview and you can explain more then to. As for the length of you visa if you read this site on B2 visa it tells you they are for 3 months to 10 years . Luck of the draw when you go in for interview.
