Hello ,

I am in USA on L1B Visa and My wife is on L2 Visa . We are here from last 10 months . My wife is facing some health issues since last 1 month hence we want her parents to come and stay with us for moral support.

My Questions are -
1. Should I sponsor them or should they go for self sponsorship?
My Father In Law is a retired goverment official and stayed in USA for 4 years on A2 Visa along with his family . He can show 15L as cash and around 30 Lakhs as property .
My Father In Law has only 2 Daughters , My wife who is in US with me . And his second daughter is also in US and is a Green Card Holder.
What will be the safest bet ? Should I sponsor him or should he sporsor himself?

2. I have read on the forum that if all your children are in USA it can be a show stopper , Is this true ? if yes how can we handle it in best possible way?

Who sponsors is a secondary issue. First thing they have to prove is that they will return back to the home country. This can be done by showing financial and familial ties to the home country. Since the familial ties is going to be hard to prove with both kids here in US, the option is to strss on other familial ties (brothers, sisters, culture etc) during the interview and show strong financial ties.

There is no amount like $x that can get a visa or result in a denial. It all depends on how the VO evaluates the case.
