US visitor Visa valid only for 3 months; Is visa renewal recommended

Hi, my non-immigrant parents from India would like to make a visit to the US. However, my mom's visa expires in 3 months. Would it be an issue for them:
1. to obtain 6 months stay at the port of entry?
2. to potentially apply for extension of stay while in the US?

They have made multiple visits the past 10 years, never overstaying their allocated duration of stay and never applying for extension before.

Hi,
If their visa is going to expire in another 3 months why dont you apply for renewal.. Hope this time, they will be eligible for drop box. I suggest you to renew the visa then plan the trip for smoother process.
