Is there a policy to reject a divorcee ? My mother went to the embassy and here's what happened :
1. VO asked for husband details straightaway.
[replied]
2. VO asked who all are living with mother?
[replied]
3. VO asked for my/son's visa copies.
[passport copies handed to VO]
4. While looking at papers, VO asks for son's place of birth.
5. VO says ' ....you are not qualified visa...'
All this in 1-2 mins.
My questions :
6. Can we reapply at a different embassy? Cos that will be logistically easier instead of going to Delhi again - no other reason.
7. How long should one wait ideally ?
8. Should I contact a lawyer here in the US ?
9. Has anyone faced this situation ?
10. No reason was given for denial. Why ? Can I get the reason later on ?
