is the application id in ds-160 connected to CGI number generated during payment ?

I created two DS-160 s and the latter one was the correct one but i proceeded to make payment with the application number of the incorrect one. Will it matter? and do i need to pay the fees for the correct one as well?
CGI reference no is tied up to user login and not DS-160 no and we can change the no after paying the fee and it should not matter ?

Hi Member,
If you have entered wrong DS 160 number, you can change the number in the profile update page. Then you get new confirmation page with the update of new DS 160 number.

Hi Member,
No.. Payment will be linked with passport and name. After you make payment also, there is option to edit the DS 160 number. So, it wont be problem.
