Visitor Visa - Peculiar Situation-Advice needed

Hi ,

I am planning to invite my parents over for my wife's delivery which is in August.My current H1 expires in May 2005.

The H1 extension application cannot be submitted until April 2005 since I am in my sixth year and the GC was only applied in April 2004 so we have to wait a full year before we can apply for the extension.

The questions I have are as follows:

1)If my parents apply now do they stand a risk of being allowed only a three month visitor visa?

2)Is the best available option to wait and apply for the visa in May?

Any input is highly appreciated.
