URGENT: How to rectify a mistake in the extension of stay request (I-539)

Hi,

I just finished filling and paying for the form I-539, requesting an extension of my mother's stay who is here in the USA with a visitor (B-2) visa. Very unfortunately, I entered her requested status be extended until 5/15/2010 in place of 5/15/2011. I feel very bad for this. May I know if this mistake of me can be rectified in any way?

Since, 5/15/2010 is passed, the USCIS officer would definitely think it's a mistake. Will he reject my mom's application?

I am looking forward to get an answer in great anticipation.

Hi,

I spoke to the USCIS customer service and let them know that I have done this mistake. They noted it down and said that I will get a letter about this correction and status of my extension request in one month.

Do you think, I still need to file again?

I son't think customer service can do anything to rectify the error. In your best interest, file again.
