Issue - not able to book an appointment date for the interview


I have been trying to schedule a B1B2 visa interview for my parents in Chennai for the last 15 days but no matter which date, time or location we choose, we always get the following message: "There are currently no appointments available. Please press the Back button and choose a new OFC appointment Date."

I have called helpdesk everyday but they say we have to randomly check websites every few hours.
I can't find help from anyone. The embassy is helpless and says to keep trying back. And I haven't been able to find any help on this website or the internet regarding this issue.

I'm getting really anxious and stressed out from this.

Has anyone experienced this, and what should be done to overcome this situation. Please help.

We are facing the same issue. Its been a month or so, I haven't tried everyday but whenever I tried I see the same message. I raised the request but haven't got any response. Looks like I will lose the 24K fee I paid for the parents Visa.

There are new interview waiver rules for B1/B2 visas if certain conditions are met. Assuming you've already checked those rules out?

If you apply for a B-1/B-2 Visa, you must demonstrate to a consular officer that you are eligible for a U.S. Visa under the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Act (INA). Section 214(b) of the INA treats all B-1/B-2 visa applicants as an immigrant.
