My parents are above 80 years of age, and need to apply for a nonimmigrant visa as their previous one has lapsed. They do not reside in New Delhi which is their visa ASC location. We were hoping to be able to avoid the ASC visit for them given their age and their previous multiple visits to the US. However, while filling the online visa application, it says "Photo will be taken at ASC". Does that mean they will need to travel to the Delhi ASC just for the photo to be taken, even though they are eligible to not appear for the visa interview? The last time when they had submitted the vis application online, they had been able to upload the photo in the application itself. If anyone can confirm the latest process, and is there are any steps they can take that can help avoid going to the ASC, I'd be much grateful.
