Schengen Tourist Visa Application Form Question

Hello everyone,

My husband is Portuguese & I am Pakistani, we both reside in the UAE. We are planning a holiday and for that I am applying for a Schengen tourist visa. My husband doesn’t need a visa as he is a Portuguese citizen (has a Portuguese passport & ID card).

While filling the Schengen visa application form do I need to fill the field “Personal data of the family member who is an EU, EEA or CH citizen if applicable” only if the family member stays within the EU region? Or do I have to fill it even if my EU family member (husband) lives and works in the UAE and is travelling with me.

Just want to confirm if the field only needs to filled in case I’m visiting a citizen who stays in the EU region or I need to fill it in my case too.

Please note I don’t have an EU residence card and hence I’m applying for a tourist visa.

A Schengen Visa permits a stay or travel to any member states that fall within the Schengen zone. So if you are planning to visit countries like Austria, Denmark, etc., you would probably apply for a Schengen Visa. While doing so, you will have to appear for an interview once the documentation is done.
