  • B2 visa for parents over 80 years of age

    Hello friends,

I am trying to get an appointment for a B2 visa for my parents. My dad is 82 years old and my mom is 73 of age.

As per the rule if the applicant is over 80 years old then he/she can qualify for an interview waiver. So my mom and dad can both qualify for the visa interview waiver as the primary applicant my dad is 82 years old? In this situation, my mom has to appear for a visa interview separately as she is 72 years old? Please reply me soon if anyone has gone thru the same situation.

Your father is eligible for the dropbox (Interview waiver), but your mom is not. So better have both of them attend interview together.

So I have to schedule interview for both even if my dad can get interview waiver?

No, you don't HAVE to do that. You can have interview waiver (dropbox) for your father, but your mother HAVE to attend interview.

So my suggestion is to have both attend interview together - it will be easy & safe.
