B2 Visa Query-(I797 ok? or need visa for Us person)

Hello,

I want to bring my parents here in US for a short trip. I am on H1 visa in US.
My visa expired in Aug 2010 but i got the H1 Transferred and extension approval till March 2013.I have an original I797 approval notice, i couldn't travel out of US and don't have my visa stamping done yet.

My parents recently went for B2 visa interview and got denied because the visa in my passport was expired, and they didnt have my I797 with them.

Please suggest if they can go for visa i/w again with my original I797 ? or i have to get my stamping done first then they should go for visa i/w with the visa copy of my passport?

They should have a copy of your latest petition approval notice with I-94 and more importantly they should know about your extended status, employer, location, position etc. They should be able to answer questions related to your employment.
