Only a US citizen can sponsor GC to their parents. A GC holder cannot sponsor GC to their parents.- I am not an Attorney, hence not giving any legal advice. Just sharing MY opinion with an intent to help others.

In-Laws. The parents of a spouse are not considered “parents” for immigration purposes. In other words, a U.S. citizen may not sponsor an immigrant petition for a father-in-law or mother-in-law.

In other words, if one of the spouse is USC/GC holder, he/she can sponsor GC as immediate relative to the other & in turn the other spouse (once a citizen) can sponsor their own parents for GC.- I am not an Attorney, hence not giving any legal advice.
