Need to change visa appointments category

Hi,

My parents interview date is Aug 2023 in regular b1/b2 category. I am having serious health issues going on and support. Can I change visa category for emergency visa and apply sooner ?

Yes, drop a email to local consulate/embassy & request for emergency appointment along with proof of emergency.
