  • refused admission to the United States question from DS-160

My sister and her daughter has applied for US visitor (B1/B2) visa in 2020 and it got rejected.
This time we are applying visa for entire family and primary applicant is my brother-in-law.

We are confused on how to answer the below question in DS-160, as my brother-in-law has never applied for US visa before. Should I still say yes for the below question and add my sister's visa refusal information?

"Have you ever been refused a U.S. Visa, or been refused admission to the United States, or withdrawn your application for admission at the port of entry?"

    Hello,

If your brother-in-law has never applied for a US visa before, he can answer "no" to that question. Your sister and her daughter's visa refusal information should not affect his answer to that question.
