Given that Iranians are blocked from visiting so many countries, it would be helpful to know the following in advance: would an Iranian citizen who is residing in the UK (on a 5 year UK visa and on the to ILR but not yet received it) be able to easily obtain a short term visa to visit Switzerland for an academic conference (for just a few days)? This site seems to apply only to Iranians who reside in Iran--is there an option for applying from the UK?
