Why do I need to pay 2500€ before even entering the UK?

Please somebody help! I am applying for my Student visa and have reached the IHS point, but I do not understand why I have to pay for health insurance whilst I already have private insurance in my country of residence. This insurance has even carried onto other countries I used a student visa in (Switzerland). So I really don’t understand why 10.0.0.0.1 the government is asking me to pay 2500€? Is there anyway around this? Thanks!
