  • Fiancé visa to spousal visa with a dependent

I have just gotten married July 1st in the UK (I am US citizen and he is UK citizen) and am now applying for a spousal visa in the UK for my son and me. I am already on a fiancé visa and my son was granted a child dependent visa. For his visa, I had to prove sole responsibility which I have already done. I was wondering if I had to show this same proof again as it was on his last visa since it mentions if he's been granted a visa before and a home office number? Also, did I have to show all the same proof from my fiancé visa as well such as pictures etc https://vlc.onl/ ? I know I need to show proof of finances, marriage certificate, and accommodation but was hoping I didn't have to resend all the proof again. It just seems redundant as I have already shown all of this proof before but now just need to prove I have been married and will live with my spouse.

Congratulations on your marriage! To apply for a UK Spouse Visa, you must meet the following requirements: You and your spouse are at least 18 years of age or older, your marriage must be genuine, and your relationship must subsist. You must also meet the minimum income requirement (MIR) or the financial requirement and demonstrate your knowledge of the English language. You must have proof of suitable accommodation for you, your partner and any dependents. You will also need to get your biometrics taken to get leave to remain.

Regarding your question about the proof of sole responsibility for your son’s visa, it is best to contact the UK Home Office for guidance on whether you need to provide this proof again.

Applying for a spousal visa in the UK for you and your son is an important step towards building your life together. While I can provide some general guidance, it's important to note that immigration regulations and requirements can vary, so it's always advisable to consult with an immigration attorney or the UK Home Office for accurate and up-to-date information specific to your situation.

Regarding your son's visa, if he was previously granted a child dependent visa and you have already proven sole responsibility, it's possible that you may not need to submit the same proof again. However, it's important to carefully review the application requirements and guidelines provided by the UK Home Office to ensure you meet all the necessary criteria. They will specify if you need to resubmit any documentation or provide additional evidence.

As for your own spousal visa application, while certain documents such as marriage certificates, proof of finances, and accommodation will typically be required, you may not need to resend all the same proof as your fiancé visa application. It's essential to carefully review the specific requirements for the spousal visa application to determine which documents are necessary to demonstrate your marital status and your intention to live with your spouse in the UK.

Remember, providing thorough and accurate documentation is crucial to support your visa application. If you have any doubts or concerns about the specific documents required, it's best to seek professional advice from an immigration attorney who can guide you through the process and ensure your application is complete.

Wishing you all the best with your spousal visa application and your future life together in the UK!

I'm very happy about this because it taught me a very important and useful lesson. It taught me to value what other people share so I can lessen the stress in my life
