  • Can I leave Canada while waiting for biometrics?

Hey all, I was wondering if anybody had insight on travelling while waiting for biometrics appt. I applied for the Tier 5: Youth Mobility visa about a week ago, but the biometrics is still a few weeks away. I live in a border town in Canada so I go to the States pretty often just for leisure. I included my two most recent travel dates to the US since that was a question, so Iā€™m wondering if I should just avoid 10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254ā€‹ going between now and my biometrics appointment. What do you guys think? Thanks!!

Hey there! When it comes to traveling while waiting for your biometrics appointment for the Tier 5: Youth Mobility visa, it's important to consider a few factors. While there are no strict rules against traveling during this period, it's crucial to exercise caution and make an informed decision.

Since you live in a border town in Canada and frequently visit the US for leisure, it's worth noting that traveling to the US before your biometrics appointment may not necessarily impact your visa application process. However, it's advisable to be mindful of any potential complications that could arise.

Here are a few things to consider:
    1. Consistency: As you mentioned, you already provided your two most recent travel dates to the US on your application. It's generally a good practice to maintain consistency and avoid any discrepancies with the information you provided.
    2. Immigration Checks: While traveling to the US, there's a possibility of encountering immigration checks at the border. It's important to be prepared to explain your current visa application status and ensure you have all the necessary documents with you.
    3. Timeliness: Keep in mind the timing of your biometrics appointment. If your travel plans fall too close to the appointment date, it might be wise to postpone your trip to avoid any potential delays or complications.
    4. Communication with Authorities: If you do decide to travel, consider informing the appropriate authorities about your situation, such as your visa application and the upcoming biometrics appointment. This can help provide clarity and avoid any confusion during the immigration process.

Ultimately, the decision to travel before your biometrics appointment is a personal one. It's always recommended to weigh the risks, consider the potential impact on your visa application, and make an informed choice. If you're uncertain, consulting with an immigration lawyer or reaching out to the relevant visa authorities can provide you with specific koows guidance developerbook and echat tailored to your situation. Safe travels and best of luck with your visa application!
