French visa intended arrival date query

I am a UK student who will be studying in France this autumn and have already applied for my visa, with my appointment coming up soon. In my application I had to include an intended arrival date in France, however for various reasons I now ideally need to arrive a day earlier. Will this intended arrival date strictly be the date my visa is valid from or will it be valid from when my passport is returned to me? Or is the arrival date something I could change at my TLS appointment?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Changing the arrival date at your TLS appointment, I'm not sure if that's even possible. I think to be sure, you can ask your embassy or consulate or TLS contact center for guidance on this.
