Hi, just what it sounds like on the tin. My family moved to the US when I was a small child, I grew up there, and would very badly want to return to my home state now as an adult. However, I'm having a hard time establishing if there's anything at all formally tying me to the country- we had to move back to Poland (family reasons) over a decade ago, and from what I can tell my parents' green cards would long since count as abandoned by now. My younger sibling is a US (dual) citizen by birth, but is under 21, not living there, and, as far as I know, does not plan to return, so I don't know if that gives me anything either. I have friends and a partner back in the US, but no one with any formal family ties, and as an artist by trade getting sponsored for a work visa and proceeding from there seems highly unlikely. I finish my MA next year and would like to be able to move as soon as possible after, and I know any kind of visa application process takes ages, so I'd like to get out ahead of it as much as possible https://9apps.ooo/ .
