Hello, My parents have a B1/B2 visa appointment in this September. I was taking a look at the appointment confirmation to see everything is in order. And 2 things raised an alarm.
1) I had paid the MRV fees of both of my parents and had booked the appointment together for both of them. But the appointment confirmation only mentions 1 of them while there is no mention of the other parent in the entire document. I logged into the new application portal today and saw that unlike old website there is no receipt number details of both my parents and am a bit confused.
2) Another thing which is a bigger concern is that the appointment confirmation shows the passport number of the applicant. I cross checked if the passport number is same as my parent's passport and it WASN'T. I thought that it was very odd and so, I checked if the passport number is from the old passport that my parent had and NO, that wasn't the case either. I looked up the ds160 to see what passport number was filled in, and the passport number WAS correct in DS160. Then I noticed the DS160 application number and it was almost the same as the passport number mentioned in the appointment confirmation: for e.g DS160 AA00AA999A and passport number was AA000AA999A, there was just an extra 0 in the middle and rest of the stuff was exact the same. I don't know how could this be. As I don't recall mixing them up and why was there an extra zero. What's up with this? Should I be worried?
