  • How to make profile changes for new US visa scheduling portal

While trying to fill out the new US visa scheduling portal, I accidentally filled the name incorrectly. Now, I am trying to correct this error, but unable to proceed.

Tried to create a new profile with new email ID, but due to the profile being linked with passport ID, I am also unable to create the new profile.

I have tried to email the us visa scheduling customer care (both old and new) as well tried to call the customer service number, but haven’t heard responses on the email even after 3 weeks and can’t get my calls to get connected to any customer support.

I am in the same boat. I had to create 3 profiles to get my information match to DS 160. Now the system doesn't allow me to submit the application as there are multiple profiles. There's no way in the new scheduling website to delete a profile. I created a case by going to "Feedback" section but all they do is mark the case "resolved" without any actual resolution. Not sure how this can be resolved! I am stuck now Any help, any clue what can be done?

Dealing with an error in your U.S. visa application can be frustrating, but there are steps you can take to address the issue.
      1. Keep Trying to Contact Customer Support:
        • Continue attempting to contact the U.S. visa scheduling customer care. While it can be challenging to reach them, persistence may pay off. Be patient and keep trying.
      2. Document the Issue:
        • Make a record of all your attempts to contact customer support, including dates, times, and any reference or case numbers provided. This documentation can be useful if you need to escalate the issue later.
      3. Check for Response:
        • Continue monitoring your email for a response from the U.S. visa scheduling customer care. Check your spam folder as well, in case their response got filtered there.
      4. Contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate:
        • If you're unable to reach the customer support, consider reaching out directly to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in your home country. They may be able to assist you or provide guidance on how to correct the name error.
      5. Prepare Documentation:
        • In the meantime, gather all relevant documentation, including your passport, visa application, and any proof of the correct name spelling. Having these ready will be helpful when you do get in touch with the authorities.
      6. Consider Professional Help:
        • If you continue to face difficulties in resolving the issue, you might want to consult with an immigration attorney or a visa specialist. They can provide guidance on the best course of action and help you navigate the process.
      7. Be Mindful of Deadlines:
        • If you have an impending visa interview or appointment, make sure to address the name error well in advance. Delays in correcting the error could affect your visa application process.
      8. Try Social Media Channels:
        • Some U.S. Embassies and Consulates have social media accounts where they respond to inquiries. You can try reaching out to them through platforms like Twitter or ********.
      9. Consider Visiting the Embassy or Consulate in Person:
        • If your situation becomes urgent, you may consider visiting the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in person. Be sure to check their website or contact them beforehand to understand their current procedures and appointment requirements due to COVID-19 or other restrictions.
I would suggest just be patient, and keep continue to contacting the authorities. I would suggest you should do your own research as well online. Your patience and perseverance will be heard soon. I hope I can be of any help to you. All the best! The due credit of this resource goes to dygreencard inc.

Sometimes, it can take some time for customer service to respond to emails, especially in the case of government agencies. Be patient and continue checking your email for a response. Keep records of your communication.

To make profile changes for the new US visa scheduling portal, you should first attempt to contact the customer care via email or phone, as you've already tried. Since you mentioned not receiving a response via email and difficulty reaching customer support by phone, consider trying alternative methods such as reaching out through their official social media channels or contacting the nearest US embassy or consulate for guidance on correcting your profile information.

It's crucial to resolve this issue through official channels to avoid any complications with your visa application.

I created a case in the scheduling portal to update my first name as per my passport. I received this reply in a few weeks

              "Dear Applicant

Thank you for writing to the U.S. Visa Service Desk.

We understand that you want to update your name first name/last name.

In response to your question, we would like to inform you that, once the profile is created applicant will not be able to make any changes in the first name/last name.

We request you to proceed ahead. At your biometrics (OFC) appointment, please inform the Visa Application Center officials about the changes.

We hope this information is helpful to you."

should I just go ahead and make payment and schedule the appointment?

                Hello fchoudhary,

My mother is facing a similar issue to yours. Her first name is incorrect in her profile, and I am currently unable to make any modifications. Her OFC is scheduled for November 3rd, and I am struggling to find a solution to this problem.

Were you able to inform the OFC center, and did they correct the name for you?

If you have any updates, could you please share them with me?

                    Hey mnikhil416,

The response I got when I opened a case online was

"We understand that you want to update your name first name/last name.

In response to your question, we would like to inform you that, once the profile is created applicant will not be able to make any changes in the first name/last name.

                    "

So I guess I will go ahead with getting the visa appointment date and then at OFC I will inform them about the name change. Hope this helps.

Any updates. I have made the same mistake and entered name incorrectly by mistake while creating the profile. Now i can't change it or make a new account, and they won't let me start another application because my first application was linked to my passport number.

Reach out to the customer support or helpdesk of the platform or service where you encountered the problem. Explain the situation clearly and provide any relevant details, such as your passport number and the incorrect name entered. They may be able to assist you in correcting the error or providing guidance on how to proceed.

Keep trying to contact customer support through email and phone. If that doesn't work, reach out directly to the US Embassy or Consulate where you're applying for the visa for assistance.

Did you manage to solve it? If not, you might want to try contacting some agents who could assist with your profile. Sometimes, a little expert help can make a big difference. Personally, I finally decided to reach out to https://www.topessaywriting.org/do-m...omework-for-me, and honestly, that was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Their assistance has significantly reduced my stress levels and allowed me to focus on other important aspects of my life. It’s amazing how having the right support can transform your experience and make things feel much more manageable.
