B2 tourist visa from UK to visit the USA

Hi has anyone here successfully obtained a b2 tourist visa from the uk to visit the USA? This visa allows for 6months stay as a tourist.

If so how was your experience? Why did you choose the b2 rather than the Esta? how was the interview process what questions did you get asked and any advice on how best to navigate this?
