  • Visiting with two passports, one expiring soon

Hello, I'm new to the forum and I wasn't able to find a related thread.

I live in Canada (temporary worker) and I have two citizenships: Honduran and Colombian.

I have a B1/B2 visa that's expiring in 2029. I requested this visa when I was living in Honduras and it was stamped in my Honduran passport. This passport is expiring in October 2024.

I recently renewed my Colombian passport and it's expiring in 2033.

I want to travel to the US in June 2024. Given that my Honduran passport will be within less than 6 months of its expiry date, can I enter the US with my Colombian passport even though my visitor visa is stamped in my Honduras passport?

No. You cannot enter using a visa that is on a passport issued by a different country from the passport you are entering on. You need to either get a new Honduran passport (in which case you do not need a new visa; the new passport can be used with the visa in the old passport), or get a US visa in your Colombian passport.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

      Thanks for confirming.
