I have a question regarding my Father's US Visa.
In his old passport, my Given Name and Surname were swapped (incorrectly), his US Visa was created in the same way and he traveled to the US and back without issues.
But this year, in his renewed passport, the given name and surname are printed correctly as per his National ID. His Visa with the swapped name is still Valid until Jun 2024. Will he face issues if he travels to the US with this mismatch of names?
If not, He is ready to apply for a new B1/B2 Visa so that he can travel to the US this year. But when he submits it to Dropbox, will there be any issues with the visa extension with this name mismatch between his old passport+Visa and the new passport?
To clarify:
His name order on the old passport is incorrect.
His name order on the US visa (valid until Jun 2024) is incorrect.
His new passport has the correct name order.
Example:
Old Passport:
Varma Vijay
US Visa:
Varma Vijay
New Passport:
Vijay Varma (Which is correct as per Indian IDs)
Will there be any issues with his Visa extension/travel?
