studying with a working holiday visa

Hello

I'm a Canadian and about to apply for a working holiday visa (aka youth mobility visa) for Italy. I plan to travel and work for the summer in Italy, and in the Fall I am doing an exchange semester. I want to make sure that I can study with this visa, i tried emailing the Italian consulate but no response. If anyone has done this before, I'd be happy to hear about your experience. Thanks
