Proof of relationship

My brother in law ( wife's older brother) is sending us the sponsorship letter to us in few days.

1. Should we show proof of our relationship with him in some form like affidavit or ration card etc.

2. Even if we have one, the maiden name of my wife has changed and should we give document to prove the changed name.

Your marrriage certificate would show who your wife is.

And then birth certificates of your wife and her brother would show that both are siblings.

Can we use 10th standard marks card as proof of age and date of birth instead of birth certificate. In olden days, the concept of birth certificate was non existing.
