Hey everyone,
So, I'm gearing up for an exchange program in Vancouver next year (2025) with my girlfriend. Starting next month, we'll be kicking off the process of organizing all the paperwork with the exchange agencies, covering the costs of the English school fees, and preparing to apply for the visa.
But here's the thing - my parents passed away in 2022. I'm 22 myself, currently studying at a public university in my home country. They left me a car, which I'll be officially inheriting soon, and a house that's going to be mine down the line (a bit too pricey to transfer ownership right now).
I'm a bit unsure about how being an orphan might impact the visa process. Plus, there's this lingering concern about immigration officers mistakenly assuming I'm planning to relocate to Canada permanently. Also, I'm still undecided whether to apply for an American or Canadian visa.
Any advice or insights on this front would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help you can offer.
