Us visa appointment. Indian applicant in canada

Hey . I am working in canada. Applied for my us visitor visa. The interview is on 9th may Halifax location. My work permit expired on 12 April and now I am on applied status as I have received ITA for my pr application and it’s in process. Will get my ecopr in few weeks. Currently I legal as per status I can work as well. Just wanted to know do visa officer ask for a valid work permit or do they consider work permit as a parameter. Or visa officer may get a bad impression as my work permit is expired and I m trying to get in states for illegal immigration?

Can anyone please suggest me some solutions on this ?
