type of profession v/s visa type

I run a private limited company, which specilises in travel related services. We are a tour operator handling indian clients only who travel within india. This is my company activity and my profession.

However i am planning to visit my relatives in USA purely on family visit, visiting their city as well as surrounding places. I have no business interests while in USA.

If the consular officers asks me, my profession, is it ok to tell him that i am tour operator but not seeking business visa but a tourist visa only.

In most of the posts which i have seen, truth should be told, when asked. Is that so. I have no intention of lying to him.

Please advise.
