Visitor Visa for my parents

Hi, I am planning to call my parents to US. I am a green card holder and wife is a US Citizen.
I have a consulting job and is paid hourly. Would that make any difference when appling for my parents?
My wife has a full time job for works for the Government.

Would it make any difference if my wife sponsors my parents? If yes, what all documents would she need to sponsor them?
