Very Wierd Situation, Please Help and advice.God Bless
Hi,
My parents applied for a visitor visa in 2002 at delhi embassy and got one year multiple entry visa to US.They visited me in early 2003 for 3 months and left.
On their way back to their home town in a train my mom's purse was stolen which carried both my mom and dad's passports. they filed the FIR and also notified the embassy.
They again went last week to reapply for the visa and the lady at the counter was very nice and after they explained their situation and asking few questions she said she is going to give them the visa but they have to wait few weeks because they are going to verify with US to see if their passports have been misused and then the delhi embassy will call them back in few weeks. Their demand drafts and passports were returned.
My question is Is this a new rule? who are they going to contact in US to verify the misuse.
Is there anything I can do speed up the process(call the senator or some embassy in US).
Both me and my husband are GC holders for 5 years now and due to our jobs we don't get to go to India that often and only for a short time. I would really like to see my parents visit me again.
Can anybody clear the above facts for me. will my parents get the visa or what is going on .
