Question about Visa Waiver

Last year I entered the US in transit to Japan, and applied for the ESTA. This year I'm planning to visit the US, something I didn't have in mind at the time. My previous ESTA is active until next year, but in the form I had answered I was in transit to another country - which was the case for my previous trip, but not this one .

Do I have to apply for a new ESTA or I can still do with the current one?
