Newzealand visa cover letter

I'm applying for a tourist visa to newzealand, me and 3 other friends are going for vacation to NZ this year. We are travelling from India I was wondering if anyone who has applied has a cover letter format that you would be willing to share (without the personal details ofcourse). I've also read on some threads about a letter from Parents? Would be helpful if someone could share the format for that as well
