H1-b visa expired,Can i sponsor visitor visa?Please help

Hi ,

My H1-B visa,I-94,petition all are expired and i have applied for extension.But it takes 4 weeks to get the receipt.Can i sponsor my mother-in-law's visitor visa without my extension receipt.Visitor visa checklist says valid visa of sponsor,is my expired visa,petition,I-94 considered valid without receipt.Can i book an appointment for visitor visa and can she attend the interview without extension receipt?.Is there any chance they will not issue her visa?.

Do u mean i can just write a letter to consulate saying I will provide financial support by transfering money?.In this case should she still take all the sponsor documents with her for the interview.In the 'letter to consulate' i have mentioned i will accomodate her in my home for her entire stay(should i make another letter saying I will just provide funds for her all the expenses while she is here )

Just write a plain paper letter. Your parents need to produce the letter and bank statements etc. only if asked for.
