  • Does helping to clean a house you're staying in count as a job?

I am hosting someone for a tourist visa in the US. I know that they aren't supposed to have a job while they're here but to what extent does that go? Would them helping with the cooking and cleaning while they stay in my home count as a job? I would think that that's just part of anyone's self care wherever they are staying, right https://speedtest.vet/https://vidmate.bid/ ?

As long as you're just helping out as a guest and not being compensated, it's not considered work. Doing basic chores where you’re staying doesn’t break any visa rules.

If you're just helping out with regular chores as a guest, there's no issue. But if you're getting compensation—money, gifts, or even free rent—it could be seen as unauthorized work. A visitor visa doesn’t allow any kind of employment, paid or unpaid. If actual cleaning work is needed, hiring a professional service like house cleaning service eagle can keep you clear of any visa complications.

I used the services of floor cleaning services in Toronto https://www.bellrosejanitorialservic...loor-cleaning/. From the very beginning, I was impressed by the politeness and punctuality of the team. All employees arrived on time, with modern equipment and eco-friendly products. The floors were in terrible condition after the renovation, but the guys did an excellent job - the tiles sparkled, the laminate became like new, and the carpets were refreshed to an ideal condition. It is especially nice that everything was done quickly, without unnecessary noise and with respect for the work process of our company. It is obvious that the BellRose specialists really know their business. Now we order floor cleaning only from them - the result is always consistently high.

You're absolutely right—helping with cooking and cleaning as a guest in someone’s home doesn’t count as employment. It’s generally seen as being a respectful and considerate visitor, not working. As long as there's no payment or formal work for others, it’s perfectly fine under a tourist visa.

Also, if your guest is interested in customizing their online presence while visiting—say for social media or forums—they might enjoy using https://stylish-name.in/ to create a unique and fun username!

Hope everything goes smoothly with the visit!
