  • Does helping to clean a house you're staying in count as a job?

I am hosting someone for a tourist visa in the US. I know that they aren't supposed to have a job while they're here but to what extent does that go? Would them helping with the cooking and cleaning while they stay in my home count as a job? I would think that that's just part of anyone's self care wherever they are staying, right https://speedtest.vet/https://vidmate.bid/ ?

As long as you're just helping out as a guest and not being compensated, it's not considered work. Doing basic chores where you’re staying doesn’t break any visa rules.

If you're just helping out with regular chores as a guest, there's no issue. But if you're getting compensation—money, gifts, or even free rent—it could be seen as unauthorized work.
