Can someone explain the new UK ETA system?

Hi there!

I’m getting married in May and we’ve got quite a lot of family coming over from Poland - I’ve just seen the news that there’s an ETA system in place from today.

Will they all need to register for this? Half are driving and getting the Eurostar and the other half are flying into Heathrow. If so, is the best way to do it via an app or the gov website? omegle xender

Also bit of a side note - I’m a UK resident with settled status. Will I need this any time I want to come back into the UK?
