Interpreter is Good or Bad

Hello,
My parents are having an appearance at the mumbai consulate for tourist visa. My dad can understand and speak english but I think that will get tougher when he will meet a visa officer probably with different accent and from different country.
I asked VFS. My parents can request an interpreter at the mumbai consulate on the day of interview (surprising that you don't have to tell this to VFS when you take an appointment). Good for me!!
I have heard people saying that taking help from interpreter counts as negative and you have more chances of an elongated interview.
Is anybody aware of such thing?

There is nothing like that.

It can work out to be better or worse. It really depends upon the unique situation you might have on that day.

Got The Visa

My parents finally requested the interpreter. He was very nicely communicating between the two and My parents got the visa.
