  • Visitor B-2 Refusal from Australia

    [SIZE=1]Hi,

    I have never been to the US before and have just applied for a visitor visa. I am planning on going to visit my partner(fiance) who is about to start work on a working visa in NYC.

    I was refused because I quoted wrong information given to me by a consul officer about my intention to work. I filled the application wrong and put that I intended to stay for 1 year, when actually I was just looking for a 1 yr visa but intended to stay for 2-3 months. Because he saw the 1 yr, he asked me about work. I told him I had no intention to work, but that I was told if I found someone willing to sponsor me I could change my visa status. Obviously, he denied me the visa because of my intention to work.

    Please advise what to do for my next interview in 2wks. I have letters from my employer, parents and friends stating that my life is in Sydney and that I have the intention to resume work upon returning. My fiance is writing that I am going to visit him to help settle him in his first months into the job and that I have intention to travel to Europe after. I also have financial records.

    Do you think this is sufficient?? What else can u advise me to do or say to prove my case.

    Thank you very much

    For next interview, tell accurately how long you intend to stay in US.

      Another Question

      I realised last nite, that on my application I put my fiance is in US on working visa.....I was actually anticipating it. He is not in US yet and still applying for his work visa. Can I change that on my application form and say that I read the question wrong??

      The officer asked me in my first interview about that questioned and mentioned that it didn't look like my fiance had a work visa yet.

      Will they be suspicious of the change or understand it was innocent???

      Thanks
