Queries on B2

Hello,

I'm a full-time student on F1 Visa here in the reputable university.
I'll graduate in May 2012. I want my parents to attend my graduation ceremony here in the US. My father retired three years ago and has no source of income except that he has Fixed Deposits of 7 lakh Indian Rupees and 2 lakh liquid cash. I have the following questions:

1) Both my parents will come. So is the money that I have mentioned above sufficient to get the B2 visa for both of them?

2) Do I, as a student need to send them an invitation letter for coming to the US? Is this letter going to be submitted to VFS office for Mumbai consulate prior to the interview?

I have read the forum but had a few questions, so thought of asking you.

Money seems sufficient, having property is also helpful in showing ties to home country.

Yes, send an informal letter. It will not be submitted, but they can produce it if asked.
