First I would like to thank to the person / team who is maintaining this website.
My parents visa got rejected twice in Mumbai consulate. My parents have three sons. Me, my elder brother and my younger brother. Me and my younger brother both are in USA and my elder brother lives with my parents in India.
First my parents appeared for the VISA interview on Jan 31st 2005. VISA got rejected with 214(b) form given. Following were questions asked.
q. How may children's do you have.
a. Three.
q. Where are they.
a. two in usa, elder one with us in Mumbai.
q. What do you do ?
a. I am retired (My Dad got retired in Dec 2004)
q. How long you will stay in USA.
a. For 3 months.
In the application we wrote for 6 months. No more question asked and they rejected the VISA with form 214(b). "Applicant could not justify for length of stay". I know it was mistake from my Dad's part not sticking to what they wrote in the application.
They again applied for the interview which happened today March 17, 2005. Consulate person said that your VISA application was recently rejected, you have two sons in USA, you recently got retired so you do not qualify to get VISA. That's it. Both the times they did not check even a single paper.
What do we do now ? Shall we apply again soon or we should wait for some time.
How can we influence the officer that my parents will come back after 6 months stay and they don't intend to move to USA? I am thinking to visit India (just to get this job done) and take my parents with me to the Mumbai consulate. You think that will make any difference? Another thought was to meet my State's (New Hampshire) Attorney General OR Congress man and take letter from him/her.
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mishra
