Visitor Visa for my parents

Hi,

I am in US on H1. I sponsored my parents for the visa. My parents went to Mumbai consulate on March 17, 05. After waiting for 3.5 hrs, they got the interview turn.

The consulate asked them these questions.
1. Why do you want to go to US? They replied for tourism. Our son is inviting us.
2. What do your son do?
3. Where is the company?

And then they said, the computer rejected your visa. Both my parents do not understand English and they relied on Gujarati translator. The consulate did not even ask for a single document. Ironically, when they took the appointment, they took all the documents to go with it. But they took only photocopy of their passport and told to bring everything during interview. They did not take my H1 copy or I-134. How can they simply deny visa by asking where I work?

I am plannig to send them again for application after 3 business days. I would be very grateful if anyone can guide me in this regard.

Hmm...

Inspite of every documentation one can think of, and every home tie tht one can have in a typical indian family, my parents' visa got rejected thrice. Y'day they had an apptmt at chennai, and this time, I had even enclosed a letter asking them to consider/judge the case fairly, stating their home ties etc. My father is a govt employee in service, and my mom can barely utter a word in english....and everytime they deny it sayin they are not convinced my parents wud return back to india.

Its not like I am their son for one, plus I have three younger siblings in their college yrs back in hyd.

Will writing to the consulate or officials here help...I donno. I gave up trying now, specially keeping in mind the physical drill my parents have to go thru to travel all the way to chennai from hyd everytime.

I somehow, want to find a way, and make my words heard. Sum1, sumwhr might be sane enough to notice in the consulate.

All I can say to u is best of luck next time !! Ur stars do need to align to get a visa these days.
